Away from the bustle of Siesta Key′s Ocean Boulevard is a quaint little storefront with a cozy covered deck and tropical plantings. Outdoor seating is at a premium where brief waits are possible. So, thumb through prints and original works by local artists or feast your eyes on freshly baked muffins, cookies and decadent desserts Sports enthusiasts may want to head to the Lakewood Ranch location, where Dick Vitale is often seen graciously signing autographs or one of his books. Breakfast selections are available throughout the day and the list is endless!

Other Eggy offerings include the Broken Eggwich with 2 eggs, smoked ham, American cheese on a large flaky croissant or bagel as well as Bubba′s Breakfast Bowl, Pat′s take on Breakfast, Vic′s Scram Sam and all the basics for your selection. Whole wheat or buttermilk Pancakes are offered with a dozen different toppings as well as Bob′s Bear Creek ′cakes with Oatmeal, Buttermilk and whole Wheat Flour. Also on the menu are three different French Toast selections, including the local fav – "French Toast Sampler". Egg washed slices of Banana Nut, Pumpkin & Cinnamon Swirl are served up with real maple syrup! For lighter fare there’s the Norwegian Smoked Salmon & bagel, the Scram Sam ...3 eggs scrambled with smoked salmon & chives or maybe "Pat′s Breakfast" ...Three eggs scrambled with fresh vegetables and Swiss cheese. There′s always a Deep Dish Quiche and six different Omelets. Healthy eaters will enjoy the Casey Key (egg white) Omelette with spinach, tomato and Portobello. Instead of the Traditional Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon, Sausage or Turkey Sausage, try your eggs atop a pair of succulent Crab Cakes. Sweet crepe filled Cheese Blintzes and Belgian Waffles with fresh strawberries are always winners.
Skipping breakfast for a good spot on the beach?...
Even though the Broken Egg is legendary as having the best "breakfast" in town... You won’t go wrong with "lunch" either. A variety of mouth-watering offerings will have you grazing... beyond full! If you′re a soup lover, I highly recommend the Soup du Jour. Made with only the freshest ingredients, some of my favorites are the Cream of mushroom, Beer Cheese and Cream of ham with veggies. Not into heat on a warm sultry day? Try the Gazpacho with a little spicy kick. Salads include 6 luscious varieties where the Caesar is considered Sarasota′s best. For more texture and flavor add Norwegian Salmon, Marinated Chicken Breast or Grilled Shrimp. There′s a gratifying Chef salad with fresh greens and vegetables, smoked ham, turkey, cheese and eggs; a refreshing Fruit Bowl with cottage cheese; Chicken Salad Medley with fresh fruit and vegetables and a savory Spinach salad with strawberries, pecans tomatoes and red onions tossed in raspberry vinaigrette.
Sandwiches and wraps often have a twist on the tried and true...
My spouse and I "shared" ... the Turkey Ruben and "Timmy Melt", a croissant filled with freshly made chicken salad, bacon, tomato and Swiss cheese. A few napkins were required as we licked fingers and lips with pleasure! Sandwiches are served with chips and a pickle and Fresh fruit, Potato Salad or Cole slaw can be had at a nominal charge.
Want to create your own? No Problem!
Finally, and not to be ignored are a few sweet, sinful delights like...
