Fabulous Ocean Views with the “One and Only” Master of Floribbean Cuisine! Conveniently located a few steps from the beach, this is the perfect place for a wedding or reception. The second floor is available for special events and affords spectacular views of Bradenton Beach. Take the elevator to the third floor and relax at the bar or on the deck and view the sights and feel the gentle breeze while imbibing your favorite concoction. Prepare to have your palate awakened by Award Winning Chef Darrell Mizell with a fresh fusion of Latin, Caribbean and American cuisine. Selections of fish, pork, steak, chicken and pasta as well as simple burgers and sandwiches will appeal to all appetites. After a day on the beach, maybe a light meal is all you require. Choose from fourteen appetizers, salads and entrees that can be had at “reduced prices” before 6:00 p.m. A Prix Fixe menu for couples that includes an appetizer or salad as well as desert with a bottle of wine is only $70.00. Re-corking is available so the bottle is yours to take home. Children twelve and under will be pleased to find selections conducive to their appetites… chicken tenders, hamburgers, grilled cheese, pasta and shrimp. We arrived an hour before sunset and sat at the bar sipped a little wine and captured the remains of the day. With a chill in the air, my spouse and I ordered the Onion Soup. We were pleasantly surprised to find a twist to the usual… found elsewhere…with a hearty beef broth chock full of shallots, Vidalias and green onions topped with a wedge of French bread and a delightful combination of provolone, Swiss and parmesan cheeses. I continued with one of their many signature dishes; Salmon stuffed with lump crab dressing served with key lime beurre blanc, steamed baby vegetables and garlic dill mashed potatoes. Exceptional! My spouse savored his Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Succulent meaty morsels encased with seasoned stuffing then served with roasted pepper aioli and mango-papaya salsa. Asparagus, carrots and the garlic dill mashed...of which...I couldn’t resist...were excellent compliments to this offering, too. Desert arrived with flair. Not one, but two pots of Crème Brulee; one flavored with a hint of ginger the other mango featuring decorative swirls of mango and raspberry sauces. Light, creamy and sinfully delicious! As the sun moved closer to the horizon, a wild character named Tim...“The Surfer Guy”...went from table to stool passing out “Green Flash” Shooters. When the sun touched the water Tim “rang a gong and sang a song”. Then we all watched for… the “Green Light” to flash as the last speck of sun left the sky. Now, it’s not often visible to the naked eye...BUT...Green Flash or not...Those Shooters are FABULOUS!
As we all know, the sunset’s a daily event but, it’s also… a Sun House tradition. DON’T MISS IT! Click on their name below to view a complete menu and for information regarding banquets and catering.
